What A Long Day!

Today after class, I went to go have lunch with my pregnant friend. She was telling me all the changes that her body is going through. She told me things that I never knew happen once someone gets pregnant. It was very informative lol She told me the name that she's going chose for her baby boy! They're going to name him . . . . MATTHEW! Yay Matthew! I love it! I bought Matthew the cutest one piece today! I left my camera in the car, so I wont be uploading any pics until tmrw. After our lunch, I dropped her off at work. After I dropped her off, I headed out to El Cap to drop some tickets off at the box office. Gabriel was going for the 2:30pm show so, I dropped his tickets off. THEN I went to go pick up Jessica because I really wanted to go to the Hello Kitty museum in Culver City! So, we went! It was fun =) OMG they had a hello kitty toilet, sing, kitchen, guitar, surf board, scarf, curtains, EVERYTHING! Everything was hello kitty! It was so pretty! I took a lot of pictures, but like I said I left my camera in the car. I'll post the pictures tmrw in a different blog. After the museum, we went to target. Then we went to old navy. OMG we found the cutest dress ever!!! I wanted it SO bad! But they didnt have it in our size, so they checked for us if they had it in another old navy and they DID! They had it in the one in Glendale! =)

After old navy we went to the souplantation! OMG! Ive never been there until today! That's my NEW FAVORITE place! I love it!!! Its so healthy and GOOD! Its pretty much a buffet of healthy food! OMG, I loved it! LOVED it! Im definitely going back there again soon! While we were eating Soleil text me and she told me somethin that happened to Sergio.  I couldnt believe it. I wanted to hear it from him. So, I called him and he explained everything. Then me and Jessica met up with Sergio in Glendale cause he was bummed out. So, we met up at the old navy in Glendale. We both got our dresses! OMG I cant wait to wear it! I need a reason to dress up! I want to go to a fancy dinner one of these nights so I can wear it. The dress is cute because you can dress it up AND dress it down! =) I cant wait to wear it! After old navy we went to the Americana to walk around. Then we crossed the street to go to target (Yes, again) this time I bought mini hairspray and toothpaste and other things for New York.

I was so tired by then. So, we called it a night. While we were walking to our cars, I bumped into a guy I met at smc. I met him at smc and then I bumed into him at Sturbucks A LOT while I was working at the hollywood bowl. He used to work at the starbucks a couple blocks from the bowl, so thats how I got to see him often. Anyway, we said our hellos and talked for a bit. Then we said our goodbyes! I drove Jessica home, and her dad was on his way inside the house. He saw my car when we pulled up and he kept staring to see who was dropping Jessica off lol He probably thought it was some random guy dropping her off hahaha

Thursday me and Soleil worked the night shift for The Nightmare Before Christmas panel discussion. After work we were so hungry so we went to this mexican restaurant in echo park. Yesterday I had the WHOLE day off for myself. I had no errands to run, I didnt make plans with anyone. NOTHING. The whole day was about me me ME! First, I went to the brand new nordstrom rack at the beverly connection. On my way over there, I stopped at a red light in front of TOAST (the famous restaurant, thats always filled with celebrities) and I look to my right and AUDRINA from the hills is standing right there! There were camera people there, so I'm pretty sure they were filming for the hills. She was wearing a black shirt, and skinny jeans. She's so pretty!

Anyway, when I arrived at the nordstrom rack, I walked in and I went straight to the shoes department. Nothing caught my eye. Them I went to the jewelry department. I saw these Betsey Johnson earrings. OMG. They were so cute! They had rinestones on them, they were long (about 3-4 inches) and they had a leopard print heart hanging from the bottom AND it had a black bow on top of the heart. I carried the earrings all around the store while I made up my mind. I lfet them. I knew that I wasnt going to wear them. They were too fancy ha

After the nordstrom rack, I went to old navy. I did some major damage to my wallet. But its ok! I haven't shopped for ME in a while, so . . . yeah. I bought A LOT of shirts. I mean A LOT. They had the cutest shirts ever! Then they had my favorite jeans in the whole wide world! THE DIVA jeans! Oh how I love these! I bought my first pair of THE DIVA jeans a couple jears back. I bought them in black, and NOW they look grey-ish cause I've worn them so much. I swear I came out of that store with 3 bags filled with clothes. I've never come out of a store with THREE bags before! Unless, its target. Overall I was REALLY happy with my WHOLE purchase!

Then I drove to glendale! My second home! I went to the mall to buy baby clothes for my friend's fetus! ITS A BOY! She just found out this thursday that its a boy! I went to the baby gap! OMG little babies clothes are SO adorable!! Ahh!!! This baby is going to be so spoiled! =D I bought him little teddy bear pj's! I got him a couple shirts and OMG I got him little boy scout shorts!! haha they're SO cute!

After the baby gap, I went to mervins (its really robinsons may, but I call it mervins. Mervins sounds better lol) and I went bra shopping. I bought the most colorful bras ever! They were SO pretty! I bought a zebra print one with black lace! Then I got a bright BRIGHT purple with black lace! Then I got this hot pink one, with white lace! OMG! They're soooo pretty! I cant stand plain bras! Like the plain beige ones. Ugh! I hate those! They remind me of old ladies. I like BRIGHT colors! I would post a picture, but that'll be a little weird lol THEN, OMG I was walking to the cashier and its a MAN cashier! I feel uncomfortable when a MAN cashier rings me up when Im buying bras. When I buy other clothes, I dont care who ring me up. Oh man, I felt ... WEIRD haha He wasnt an old man either! He was a young guy, maybe in his mid or late 20's! I paid with the quickness, I wanted to get out of there ASAP!

After my little shopping spree, I went straight home. I was tired! Shopping is tiring, I tell ya!

The Aftermath

After this past long weekend that I had, I missed class on Monday because I couldnt move out of my bed without complaining about my soreness. I missed class last wednesday too. So, I pretty much didnt go to school for a whole week. In results of my absence I completely forgot that I had a midterm today! First, I woke up late. I only woke up cause Sidney text me, to wake up my brother. If if wasnt for his text I would have missed class, and failed the semester! So, I woke up late. I took the quickest shower of my life! I rushed it out the house with the quickness! Im surprised I didnt get a speeding ticket! Half way to school i realized that I had to go buy a scantron at the bookstore. OMG I panicked because there's usually a big line in the book store in the mornings. So, I called a girl in my class and I asked her if she had an extra scantron. She said YES thank God! That saved me 15 minutes! I made it to class 4 minutes late! Oh well.

You know how I feel like? Ok, you know how Spider Man is Peter Parker? Peter Parker is a photographer for some newspaper company. Thats his normal day job. But at night, he's spider man! And he loves it! Thats how I feel! This past weekend was so great and amazing! And now Im back to reality (School, work, issues, Bills, etc) :( It sucks. I wish everyday would be like this past weekend. Oh well. Reality sucks sometimes . . .

I Love My Camera To Pieces!!!

Everyone knows that cars need gasoline in order for them to function. Sometimes, the smell of gasoline is horrible to some people. But they have to do what they have to do! Well, concerts are MY gasoline! My tank was empty! And yes, its physically painful sometimes but its so fucking worth it! This weekend I went to the Hollywood Palladium Saturday and Sunday to go see BRAND NEW, Manchester Orchestra, and The Builders and the Butchers. I cannot explain how amazing this weekend was for me! I completely shut everything else out of my life. It was all about the music this weekend! My mom called while I was waiting in line and she said "Have you talked to Soleil or Sergio? Did you forget you have friends?" hahaha Im NOT going to lie, but I kinda slightly forgot about them. Not in a bad way or anything. When she said that to me I was like "Ohhhh Yeah!" hahaha Not only them, but I forgot about school, bills, homework, EVERYTHING! Anyway, Saturday morning I arrived there around 10:30am to start making line. Some of you might not understand why I make line so early and that's because, I have to be in the front. I mean, I HAVE to be! Its either Im in the front or Im in the back. Im a short girl, so I cant be in the middle because 90% of the people that go to shows are taller than me. Plus, I love being in the front. Its unbelievable! You feel like they're singing to you and you only. When they make eye contact with you, thats the fucking BEST! And you get to FULLY experience everything. Ahh, I love it! Sure, it physically hurts to be in the front, but its SO worth it!

Ok, Lets start!

Saturday morning I arrived to the palladium around 10:30am there were about 15-20 people in front of me. When I got there, I just set up my chair and I started reading my book. I didnt say hi to anybody. In front of me, there were 2 guys, and in front of those two guy there was this girl, alone. So when my brother got there, the social ball that he is; he started talking to the 2 guys and the girl. Then we all started playing UNO. The 2 guys were, Charlie and . . . I forgot the other ones name. And the girls name was . . . Katia (but you pronounce it caught-cha) We're just going to call her Kat. I couldn't pronounce her name at all! This girl told us yesterday that she is only 14 years old!! OMG I could NOT believe it! I swear I thought she was like 18 or 19 years old. This girl knows her shit though! Ask her about ANY band and she's know! I was very impressed! The other two guys, Charlie and ____________ those two were from Long Beach. They both knew their shit too! They were all very friendly and funny people to be in line with.

Around 6pm we started to put our things away in the car because the line was going to start moving. When I came back from dropping my stuff in my car there was a group of about 12 people that cut the line and went in front of us. Of course the people behind us and including ourselves were angry! So, we were like WTF! So, Our little group PLUS the group behind us decided to cut them! So we all just walked in front of them. They didnt say a damn word to us, cause they knew we were pissed! Hello! We've been waiting there since the AM! So they ALL could have kissed our ass! The group that was behind us were so funny! Especially this tall guy that was with the girls. We didnt get his name, but he was a little tipsy, Maybe that's why he was so fun to be around lol It was him and 3 other girls. When the line moved, we all started walking to the front doors and this idiot, asshole, son of a fucking cunt cut the line! He was the second one in line! OHHH! I was SOOOOO angry! So angry! Everyone was yelling at him and he didnt move an inch! He was an OLD african american man (if you can call him a man) When I mean old, I mean older than 100% of the people that were in line. He was about 50 years old.

When the doors opened, they scanned our tickets and the running began! We all ran to grab our spot in the front! When we had our spot, I looked over the my left and that fucking bitch ass 50 year old man was next to me! And he was standing with his legs fucking open because he was saving a spot for someone. OMG I wanted to elbow him in the ribs SO bad! 10 minutes later, this fucking bitch ass 50 year old asian lady comes to him and she stands right next to me! She was the one that he was saving the spot for!! I couldnt fucking believe it! WTF were they doin there?!?! I know that they BOTH did NOT like the bands that were going to play! The fucking old lady said "Who did we come to see again?" and the man said "Shhh, dont say that out loud. People are going to hear you" OMFG!! When she said that I looked at her with the WTF look, and she just looked down. Throughout the whole night, the fucking 50 year old man had his elbow in my rib! When brand new went up, I couldnt take it anymore so I fucking elbowed him back and his hand lost gripp from the barricade, so he had nothing to hang on to. Ha! Dont mess with ME mothafucka! So, he was holding on to his bitch the whole night. Stupid bitches, they probably went to that show because it was on their bucket list. Fucking morons. They chose the wrong show to go to!

(Oh! I forgot to mention something! While we were in line, Cesar and guy who was tipsy had to go pee REALLY bad! But they didnt want to go because the line was going to move. So, they both couldnt take it anymore, so they went across the street to coffee bean. OMG 2 seconds after they left the line, they started to let us in!! OMG we all yelled out their names so they both could come back! They didnt even get a chance to go pee! They both ran back to the line! Once they scanned our tickets, we RAN inside to get a good spot! They were both holding it inside!)

In the middle of Brand New's set Cesar tells me "dude, I cant hold it anymore. I really have to go pee!" Right when he said that, we saw the tipsy guy getting pulled out of the crowd by security because he couldnt hold it either!! So, security pulled by brother out too, and he went to the restroom. Then he text me that he was in the balcony. That was the first time that he's left me alone in a pit before! I wasnt really alone because Sidney was with me, but still. Anyway, after Brand New's set, me and Sidney were walking out when out of nowhere I see Jeffrey Star hahaha He looked fierce. He's a fierce bitch I tell ya! Then I left, I drove home. I was SO tired!

The next morning I was there at 9am! I got there earlier because ... I just did lol 10 minutes after I showed up Kat showed up too! I knew she was going to be there because she told me the day before. After she showed up, Cesar showed up later.

This is Kat! The people that you see in back of her were there both nights too. They were nice. They said they were there at 8am =)

 

After 5 hours of being in line, me and Kat walked over to Jack in the box to get something to eat. On our way over there, we saw an accident that had JUST happened! I took a picture of course! The 2 people that you see on the right side were the owners of that car. They're fine. Nothing happened to them.

  

After we ate, and after we waited for another 5 hours. We were INSIDE! Yay! This time there was NO douch around with his 50 year old bitch! (Left to Right: Sidney, Cesar, Me, and Kat)

Here's the setlist that Kat caught! =D They added SEVENTY TIMES SEVEN! OMG!! I couldnt believe it!! I was screaming like a 10 year old at a BSB concert! AND they played jude law! Fuuuuuuck! Best fucking brand new show that I've seen ever!!! the BEST!

 

After the show was over, me and Kat started walking out and I saw Jeffrey Star again lol This time I took a picture with him ... her. whatever lol Look how fierce this bitch is lol

  

Kat told me that she met Jesse the night before while she was waiting for her mom to pick her up after the show. So, she asked me if I wanted to go with her to meet Jesse again after the show. I said "uh, YEAH!" hahaha So, after the show we went to where the tour buses were and there was nobody there. I was surprised! Then I kid you not, 3 minutes later Jesse comes out the building and he's walking towards the tour bus. I coulnt believe it. Then I said "Jesse can you sign my ticket?" (He doesnt take pictures, because he said he's self conscious) Jesse said "Sure!" Then I took out my ipod and I asked him to sign it too =) And he did =) He's adorable and amazing and fucking GREAT!

 

There's a million other things that happen but Im not going to say them because (1) Its WAY too much to type and (2) I have to get ready for work! Oh! So, while I was at the show I picked up 2 shifts for this week lol I now have 5 days! Woooo!

The Flaming Lips!

Yesterday The Flaming Lips had a secret show in Hollywood. It took place at the Nike Theater on Vine. The deal was first come first served. In order to get in everyone had to have a wristband. So, I left work early and I drove to the Nike Theater to get my wristband. When I got there, there was NO parking whatsoever! So, I parked in RED and I RAN to the venue! And I grabbed my wristband (yay!) and I ran back to the car. Then I went back home to get ready. When I got home, I opened my laptop and the battery was dead, so I grabbed my charger and the fucking shit wouldnt work! =( Something happened to the charger! =( So, Im using my brother's mac book right now =( Im going to get a new charger tonight, thank goodness! Im not used to writing a blog with a mac. It feels weird. Anyway.

When I arrived at the venue, my brother was already in line with Kim, and his gf. While we were waiting in line, they started doing an interview with the band right outside.

They had a store on the second floor inside selling flaming lips merch. Me and Cesar went and I bought a shirt for $10 and a poster for $5! I love them both! =)

Both of my posters got signed because after the show they had a meet and greet! =) Steven said "HI! What's your name?!" I said "Karla with a K" hahaha Two of my managers at work call me "Karla with a K", so they both instantly came to mind lol

After we purchased we headed back downstairs to make line. Around 6:30pm they started to let us in! When we went inside, everyone had seats. We were in the 3rd row. The theater was so nice and modern! Ive never been to a venue like that. It was pretty nice! Around 7:45pm they told us that theyre going to do a Q&A for 30 minutes, then they were going to play the show, THEN they were going to do the meet and greet upstairs in the store! The Q&A was awesome! People asked great questions!

After the Q&A they started the show! It was a mini show, so I believe they played about 6-7 songs. They played a couple new songs. It was awesome! I didnt see not one person sitting down! Here are a couple pictures! =D

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the middle of the last song, we headed upstairs to the store, to be the first ones in line for the meet and greet. When we got there, there were about 10 people already there. While we were in line, they started to hand out FREE unlimited posters! We all grabbed one. They only printed 700 of these.

After we got our posters, the line started to move. It was almost our turn when this one kid with a guitar wanted to cut the line! The security told him that he had to go to the back of the line, but if he wanted to ask someone if was ok for him to cut in front of them, than it was ok. He asked me and I said NO. Kim was behind me, so he asked Kim, and she said ok. Kim told him, that he better not start playing the guitar for them! The kid said ok. After they signed my posters, I stood there waiting for Kim, Cesar, and Kayla.

I swear I was standing there for a good 20 minutes because the kid with the guitat kept talking to the band! He was saying "I just want you guys to know that Im going to play with you guys one day. I love your fucking music! Do you want to play my guitar? Blah blah blah" He just kept going on and ON! Security tried to keep the line moving but it didnt work! Finally, after the kid left Kayla asked if we could take a picture and they said YES.

After we got all of our things signed, Kim drove us back to our cars. I left mine at the hollywood and highland parking lot. When she dropped me off, I had to pee so bad, so I went over to El Cap lol They were letting out from the 7pm show. Then I went HOME! I fucking KNOCKED out! I was so tired!

OMG! BRAND NEW and Manchester Orchestra TOMORROW & SUNDAY!!!!! Another great fucking weekend ahead!!! Im so EXCITED!!!!! :D
